Clinic for the treatment of joints and spine

Answers to frequently asked questions

  • Does the clinic provide treatment for a disease like yours?
    • Most of the names of diseases of the musculoskeletal system, the treatment of which is carried out in the clinic, are listed on this page.

If you do not find your disease in the list above, you can clarify this question by phone or by asking a question on the website.

  • What examinations should you come to your first appointment with?
    • With those that you already have regarding the disease with which you want to contact us. If you do not have any examinations, it is better not to do them yourself.

The need for additional examinations is determined after a face-to-face consultation. More details at this page.

  • I already have a diagnosis, which means I don’t need a consultation, and I can start treatment right away?
    • No. We do not treat based on other people's diagnoses. Having someone else’s diagnosis does not at all replace the need for consultation. And this is not enough to start treatment.

For effective treatment, in addition to the diagnosis, it is also necessary to understand the characteristics of your disease with this diagnosis. These features are not indicated in the diagnosis itself.

The consultation includes clinical diagnostics, diagnosis and clarification of the characteristics of your disease with this diagnosis. Only on the basis of all this is the question of the nature of further treatment decided.

For treatment without consultation, having the diagnosis and treatment recommendations of your previous doctor, you can contact one of the nursing staff. The nurse will not diagnose you, she will simply carry out the doctor’s instructions that are within her area of competence.

If you came to us, then this alone indicates that you were not satisfied with the quality of medical care provided to you in other medical institutions. This means you realize that something needs to be changed in the approach to treating your disease. But to select effective changes in treatment measures, it is necessary to start again with diagnosis.

We do not question the competence and authority of the doctor who previously diagnosed your disease. But the diagnosis made by someone does not always turn out to be correct in the future.

And even a correct diagnosis in itself does not reveal all the nuances of your disease. And these nuances can only be determined after a thorough examination with us.

  • I was already treated with injections and it didn’t help. Does it make sense for me to be treated at the Akta clinic now?
    • If you have not previously been treated by us, then the treatment method we use has not been performed on you.

This method of treatment is used only in Akta®Arthroclinic; it has a fundamental difference and practical advantages in comparison with standard injection methods, as well as other non-surgical treatment methods.

Read more about the treatment provided at the clinic at this page.

  • How does the treatment provided at the Akta clinic differ from treatment in other medical institutions?
    • The treatment is non-surgical. During the treatment procedure, a series of injections are made into certain non-standard places (the injection sites are individual in each specific case). In this case, injections are made without penetrating into the joints and spinal canal, as well as without penetrating any “dangerous” places at all. The high effectiveness of treatment is due to an individual approach to each patient.

      More details at this page.

  • What medications are used for treatment?
    • In our treatment, the place and method of injection are in the first place, not drugs. Medicines for each treatment procedure are selected individually, taking into account side diseases and allergy history.

Which medications will be used in each specific case is decided only after a face-to-face consultation. More details at this page.

  • What is the cost of treatment?
    • The cost of treatment is individual in each case. It depends on which joints or parts of the spine need to be treated, as well as on the required volume of treatment.

Therefore, check the cost of treatment in your specific case by calling.

      More details at this page.

  • Is it possible to be treated in a clinic if you have cancer?
    • Oncology is not a contraindication for our treatment (if it is not related to the musculoskeletal disease that we are going to treat).

  • Does the clinic use plasma lifting (PRP therapy, treatment with platelet-rich blood plasma), HILT therapy, shock wave therapy, etc.?
    • In our treatment of joints and spine, we try to provide the most effective assistance to patients who come to us. Therefore, we use the most effective treatment in each specific case.

Due to the fact that the treatment method we use is more effective, we do not use PRP therapy, HILT therapy, shock wave therapy and other “newfangled” treatment methods.

  • If I undergo treatment in a clinic and the joint stops hurting, does that mean it will continue to deteriorate, and I won’t notice it?
    • Of course not! Chronic pain itself is a pathological factor that causes chronic spasm of muscles and blood vessels. And this leads to the formation of contractures and ischemia of surrounding tissues, to dysfunction. Therefore, if the pain goes away, this has a beneficial effect on the joint as a whole.
